The officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Romania's Department of Energy and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey for cooperation in developing electricity interconnections between Romania and Turkey.
"The collaboration with Turkey is an important element of the energy sector in Romania in terms of the potential recovery of exports," said Nita. "In this regard, I discussed potential interconnection projects with my Turkish counterpart […] The main benefit of these interconnections is the creation of alternative facilities for the exchange of electricity between the two countries."
The Romania-Turkey submarine cable is a project of pan-European interest, representing a solution for the energy export market in Turkey and adjacent markets.
